Key Scripture Of The Week 〰️

Genesis 18:22 -33

Protected In the midst of Destruction

Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

Daily Bread

In Genesis 18, we witness something so profound—Abraham interceding with God for Sodom. What’s striking is how Abraham keeps asking, “What if there are only 50 righteous? 45? 30? 10?” And each time, God replies with mercy: “I will not destroy it for the sake of the righteous.”

This shows the heart of our Father. Even when sin is loud and darkness surrounds a place, God still searches for the righteous. He still listens to those who walk in His will. There is divine protection over His children—so powerful that their very presence can hold back destruction.

  • Faithfulness – Abraham faithfully pleaded for others. This week, ask yourself: “Am I standing in the gap for anyone?” Are you interceding, even for those who might not know how to pray for themselves?

  • Just because destruction is happening around you doesn’t mean it will touch you. When God marks you, you’re not just covered—you’re a barrier. You’re a woman who shifts atmospheres.

  • God honors the prayers of the righteous. He listens. He sees. He protects. Even when it looks like everything is falling apart, He makes a way for His children. (Isaiah 54:17)

Practical Steps & Challenges

  • This week, don’t shrink back. Stand boldly as Abraham did. Intercede for your home, your workplace, your city. The power of God in you can preserve lives around you.

Step: Set a fixed time each day to pray specifically for protection over yourself, your loved ones, and your community.

  • Challenge: Write a list of 3 people or places that need prayer. Set aside time to intercede for them every day this week. Watch what God does through your obedience.

For the next 7 days, commit to praying Psalm 91 over your life and the three people or places you listed.

  • Step: Speak God’s promises aloud each morning, declaring His protection and faithfulness over your circumstances.

Challenge: Write down Psalm 91:7 and Ezekiel 22:30 on a note card or your phone. Declare these scriptures daily as a reminder of your role as an intercessor.
